The Tenderloin, San Francisco SF is one of the funkiest and culturally-thematic of America’s neighborhoods. Visitors who are not put-off by slightly unpredictable experiences and have an interest in discovering spots that are not found among the conventional San Francisco SF travel guides should definitely head to the Tenderloin.
The entire experience offered here borders a bit on the random and the slightly bizarre and the nightlife options are simply incomparable. Visitors are literally spoilt for choices when searching for a bar or a place to jive to live music when visiting San Francisco SF’s Tenderloin. Among the many popular nightspots, some have been attracting a lot of attention:
Bambuddha Lounge, 601 Eddy Street, Larkin, San Francisco SF — this lounge was made famous due to its connection with a major Hollywood production’s party a few years ago. Since then, the Bambuddha has managed to continuously attract hipsters from in-and-around Tenderloin. The name comes from the massive statue of Buddha on the roof in a reclining position. The décor is a bit like the ’50s but it does manage to appear very chic in a retro way. The place has created its own set of dedicated revelers who cannot seem to get enough of cocktails like the Cherry Blossom and the Monkey Cocotini.
Aunt Charlie’s Lounge, 133 Turk Street, San Francisco SF — the crowd here is hip but not on the younger side. The music is played by a resident DJ and there is no shortage of the variety offered in terms of the cocktails and other bar services. Even by the general San Francisco SF standards, the drinks are a bit stiff and those educated about their personal limitations would be more suited to come here.
Divas, 1081 Post Street, San Francisco SF — there are three floors in this bar and it is frequented by a crowd that is slight more subtle in their mannerisms as compared to some of San Francisco SF’s more stylish joints. The second floor has an exotic dancing area and the third serves a vast range of mocktails.
